Behind the Poem:. He is Near

Behind the Poem He is Near: Some days we can feel the Lord close, other days He feels far, far away.

Oh… how our emotions are fickle.

The truth is – He is Near, rather we ‘feel’ Him or not.

Can we trust that He goes before us, walks behind us and hems us in like a mother bird, hems in her chicks.

He chooses to be near, do we choose to be near to Him? #Psalm139

Behind the Poem: Home

I love everything about home.

I love coming home at the end of the day and pulling on my cozy clothes.

I love standing in my kitchen preparing a meal.

I love sitting around the table with family and friends, and the conversation that is found there.

And I love this scripture about home.

By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures. Proverbs 24:3-4

It takes wisdom to build a house.

Home is the place where we purpose to understand each other. The safe place where we and our children are established.

It’s where our minds are filled with knowledge of God as our heads bend over our Bibles.

Home is where we can ask hard questions, ponder the things of God, and help one another understand.

The knowledge that we find in a home built by wisdom are like rooms filled with rare and beautiful treasure. 🏡

Behind the Poem He is Her Peace

Behind the Poem – He is Her Peace:

Scripture tells us that God will give us, not just any peace, He gives us His Peace. When things are in chaos, completely out of control all around us, we can walk through it with a peace so great, it is beyond what we and others can comprehend.

Then, as we purpose to allow God’s peace to guard our hearts and minds something happens.

There is a making, a forging within us, and we become peacemakers, those who carry His peace in our lives and bring His peace to lives of others.

Let’s walk in the Power of His Peace today!

Behind the Poem Fire by Night

Behind the Poem: Fire by Night

In the book of Exodus we find the Israelites traveling through the wilderness, and the wilderness is hard place to be. Not knowing the whole plan, uncertain of their future, trusting God day by day.

Yet God was faithful. He led them with a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.

God does not change, in our darkest night when insomnia and worry come to plague us, He warms with His fire by Night.

When fear grips us and we don’t know the plan, He leads us by His Fire by Night. May you feel Him warm, and see the light of His fire today. 🔥
