The timeless, so often quoted Twenty-Third Psalm. If you have been to a funeral – you’ve heard it. Many believers and unbelievers have and will cling to the words of this Psalm in dark and desperate times.
Our God is a God who honors His Word. In the dark valleys of life – He is with us.
Always Seeing ~ Always Knowing
Always Leaning ~ Always Calling
When our cups are bone dry – He causes them to overflow
Psalm 23
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
Lord, You are my Shepherd. In You I lack nothing.
When my soul is in turmoil You take me to quiet places.
Alongside green pastures and still waters.
There my soul is refreshed.
You are my guide in my path through this life.
When that path takes me through dark valleys, You are with me.
You comfort me and tend to me.
You place Your anointing oil upon my life and my cup overflows.
Every day of my life Your goodness and love goes with me.
I trust in that.
I make my home with You and I will dwell there forever. – Amen
