This Psalm reveals to us, that it is important to God who we surround ourselves with. We are created for community, with God and with others. When we find ourselves far away from the Lord, wondering how to get back, we must take a good look around us.
In my life surrounding myself with God seeking women has dug my tent pegs deep. They are women who have corrected, challenged, encouraged, inspired and prayed for me.
Mentoring is biblical, the Lord knew we would need encouraged in this journey called life.
Psalm 15
1 Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent?
Who may live on your holy mountain?
2 The one whose walk is blameless,
who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from their heart;
3 whose tongue utters no slander,
who does no wrong to a neighbor,
and casts no slur on others;
4 who despises a vile person
but honors those who fear the Lord;
who keeps an oath even when it hurts,
and does not change their mind;
5 who lends money to the poor without interest;
who does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
Whoever does these things
will never be shaken.
Oh Lord, I want to camp out with You?
But I need Your help –
To walk blameless
To do what is right
To have truth in my heart and speak it from my lips
To be a woman who does not slander others
Who does no wrong to those around me
Who never gossips
Help me to separate myself from those who are mean spirited.
Connect me with those who honor and fear You.
Who go to great lengths to honor their promises and don’t change their minds.
Who care for the poor and never look to profit from their distress
For they will never be shaken
Who I surround myself with matters to You.
I want to be a woman who is never shaken, who camps out with You. – Amen
