Many days I wonder if justice will ever come. I wonder if God sees. I am reminded today that His Light illuminates the darkness, showing all things. Even what is hidden in our hearts.
Psalm 11
For the director of music. Of David.
1 In the Lord I take refuge.
How then can you say to me:
“Flee like a bird to your mountain.
2 For look, the wicked bend their bows;
they set their arrows against the strings
to shoot from the shadows
at the upright in heart.
3 When the foundations are being destroyed,
what can the righteous do?”
4 The Lord is in his holy temple;
the Lord is on his heavenly throne.
He observes everyone on earth;
his eyes examine them.
5 The Lord examines the righteous,
but the wicked, those who love violence,
he hates with a passion.
6 On the wicked he will rain
fiery coals and burning sulfur;
a scorching wind will be their lot.
7 For the Lord is righteous,
he loves justice;
the upright will see his face.
As you pray along today, I encourage you. Pray out loud.
Hearing your own voice
Declare the very Word of God
Is a powerful thing
Father, How often I am tempted to run to a safe place each time adversity comes my way.
I thank you that I don’t have to run far –
You are my refuge – my safe place- my mighty mountain
I am reminded that, even today, the wicked have their arrows pointed at those who are upright in heart.
When the ground underneath me is quaking – Where should I go? What should I do?
You Lord, are holy, You sit upon Your Holy Throne.
You are not far – You see every person on this earth – Your eyes examine us all.
You see the ones in right standing with You.
You see the wicked, the ones who love violence. For those you have a hateful passion.
On the wicked, You will rain coals of fire and burning sulfur. Their reward will be a scorching wind.
You are righteous, Lord. You love Justice
Those who are upright in their hearts, one day we will see You face to face. – Amen
