Once we have our armor on and sword in hand we are to do one thing, STAND.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your STAND against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to STAND your ground, and after you have done everything, to STAND. STAND firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6: 10-18
This verse is for this season, this day. We are living in days where evil has come. A time when fear is running rampant in our minds. We want to recoil into ourselves. Standing is a hard thing to do, even with all of our armor on and our sword in hand.
I ask myself, what would God say about turning away men, women and children for fear there is a terrorist hiding in their midst? He says… Our battle is not with flesh and blood.
Our battle is not with families who have had everything striped away from them. Their families, friends, homes and everything they hold dear, gone. They have seen the bodies of their children wash up on cold sand. Can we even imagine?
They are wounded and desperate,
desperate for the hand of Christ.
We, my believing friends, are His Hands.
It can feel safe to sit in our homes and let fear build walls. Jesus was never about building walls, only tearing them down. Remember the walls that once separated us from God? Yea… He tore those walls down.
Even back in the days of Moses this was a concern for God’s people and hear what He said…“When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God. Leviticus 19:33-34
Church of North America, What do we do? We get up every day and put on our Armor, we hold tight to our Sword and we pray.
Then we STAND, STAND in Christ’s love.
We stand in the same love, that saved us.
We may find it almost impossible to stir up love, for a people who seem to be our enemies. Jesus will supply the love, we supply the hands and feet. In time, His love will infused in us and defuse fear.
To Defuse Fear – We Infuse Love
God loves these people so much, that He is making a way and bringing them here to the land of the free. That they may see and know us, His Living Epistles.
How we will greet them when they come?
Will they hear the Good News from our lips?
Will they feel hope and healing from our hands?
Will there be more of Him and less of Us?
Will we STAND, sisters, STAND with our Lord Jesus in Love?
