13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
That is the place where we all began, within our mother’s womb. God was putting us together, cell by cell, vessel, by vessel, bone by bone. There is no other way to explain it, a miracle is happening deep inside.
We were praying for a baby girl over the last month, she was still in her mama’s womb. Each time I prayed for her I would close my eyes and see the Hand of God holding her. Each time I felt a great peace wash over me. She was born, beautiful and healthy, fashioned by God.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Of course these verses are written by a man. Only a man would say…”God, when I look at myself all I can think is you did a wonderful job!
I don’t think I have ever heard a woman say those words. All we see are the flaws, flaws that are found when we compare ourselves to others. It robs us of knowing who we are, full and well.
Rather we choose to see it or not, live it or not, we are one of God’s masterpieces. Let’s choose to live that way. Let’s start to know that we are wonderful and let’s know it full and well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
The truth is God’s eyes have been seeing us, before we ever came to be. He knows all of our days. The great days, the okay days, the days we burn with anger, the days we cry, the days we laugh, the days that leave us exhausted, the days of rest. Of this I am certain, our days are gifts from Him – let’s live them!
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God!How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand—when I awake, I am still with you.
Have you ever had a day that the phone never rings, your email is quiet, not even the buzz of a text message rattles your phone. You go to bed that night thinking, not one person thought of me today – no not one.
Oh yes Someone did, the One who formed you, the One who loves you, the One who was planning your days before they ever came to be.
He has so many thoughts about us, we cannot count them. They are like grains of sand. His thoughts go on and on and on and they are about us. I am starting to feel pretty wonderful right now – how about you?
God planned for our redemption before we were born
He made a sacrifice so that He could offer us never ending days with Him.
That Sacrifice – His Name is Jesus.
